The new version of vjoon K4™ is ready for release and will be available to customers in January. It features a host of improvements in digital asset management, workflow control and usability.
vjoon GmbH, one of the international leaders in cross-media publishing software, is set to release a new version of vjoon K4. As the company announced at vjoonity, the vjoon K4 user conference in late October in Hamburg, release number 6.5 will ship to the company's integration partners before Christmas and will be available to all customers at the beginning of the new year. The update comes with a bevy of new features that make the popular cross-media publishing platform even easier to work with. “vjoon K4 version 6.5 accommodates many user wishes and cateres to current and future market requirements,” says vjoon CEO Andreas Schrader. “Our efforts to develop version 6.5 focused largely on leaner and faster processes, better digital asset management and more customizing options. The upcoming release underscores our determination to provide optimum support for our customers' digital and print publishing endeavors.”
Digital asset management for all data
One of the new features is a thumbnail view in the vjoon K4 query panels. It provides a quick overview of all content: text, images, collections, layouts and all associated meta data. This new view comes in very handy, particularly when layout designers need to search for specific pictures. The thumbnail view is a welcome addition to the list and layout views that have been a fixture of the application for quite a while, and is now available for all desktop and browser clients. The extended filters for queries within vjoon K4 enable users to further refine their searches with the drill-down function for even more accurate results.

I am Michael O'Neill the Adobe Technical Evangelist for Film, Television, Animation and Gaming.
Adobe is sponsoring an Animation Competition with Monty Python for students across Europe that we've extended the deadline until 1 January 2013. I am working with the producer for the latest Monty Python film due out 24th Jan 2013 - ‘Animate Chapman - A Liars Autobiography'
Letter to students
Dear Students All Over,
When we began the project ‘A Liar's Autobiography - The Untrue Story Of Monty Python's Graham Chapman' 2 Years ago we wanted to allow as many people to be involved as possible and be as open as we could with the creative process. Not being held to any particular animation style or attached to any certain company or individual animator. This was going to be a pioneering creative collaboration like no other.
The uniqueness of the project and its content was truly going to take us into a new world of mixed medium animation. Involving a global company like Superfad in New York to be seen next to a one man show like Steven Lall sitting in his bedroom in Oxford. Companies like the acclaimed ArthurCox in Bristol to Trunk Animation in London who had recently done the projections on Buckingham Palace in London for the Queen's Jubilee. We were from all different backgrounds and levels of experience coming together to bring this man back to life.
